This first thing that struck me was the sheer passion and commitment to the subject from the both of you. This is very much an aficionado's piece of work and will be a collector's item for anyone interested in this unique piece of Malaysia's history.
It is beautifully written and this makes it a pleasure to read despite its obvious volume. The most striking aspect is that this is a heartfelt body of work and there is a real tinge of sadness especially towards the end. It is obvious that unless there is a complete turnaround much of what you have captured in the book will disappear in less than a generation and the damning report from UNESCO is a clear signal of what needs to be done. |
